The following dances will be brought to you on Saturday, January 10, at Eastern Market’s North Hall on Capitol Hill. Lesson at 7, open dancing 8-11. Feel free to come after 6:30 to practice.
Hey, folks, tonight, December 13, closes out our year of country-western dancing at North Hall (but you line dancers are still on for the 28th at Pitchers!). The DC Rawhides wish all of you warm, safe, and happy holidays between now and …
… our first dances in 2026! Two nights at North Hall per month have been added to the Event Calendar for January, February, and March. All but the last of these will be on Saturday nights, the last will be on Friday. We’ll continue adding more dates as we get them.
Scoot, kick, and slide at Pitchers in Adams Morgan on Sunday, June 29.
There is no cover for this event. For smooth entry, note that Pitchers does not typically allow backpacks, large bags, or water bottles. Please follow the door person’s instructions for where to place coats, jackets, or other items. Pitchers has a 4% service charge for credit card transactions.
We’ll be at the Glen Echo Bumper Car Pavilion on Saturday, June 21.
Alex is teaching the line dance “Dem Jeans”. The lesson begins at 7:00 pm. At 8, Pam will play three hours of your favorite music for open dancing. Our dance angels will take anyone on the floor who is learning or needs a partner, so no experience is necessary. We ask for $10 at the entrance.
Food and alcohol are available at the Ballroom Café, which provides all food concession sales in the park. Public parking is available in the main parking lot off Oxford Road. There are picnic tables adjacent to the pavilion so you can also pack a picnic. You cannot bring alcohol into the park. Bring your family and friends.
If you attend, please follow dance etiquette so that everyone can have the best and safest dance experience: follow the line of dance (counter clockwise): no drinks on the dance floor; slower dancers in the middle; don’t stand on the dance floor; dance what the deejay calls; if you don’t know a line dance, do not get in the way of those who do; do not touch anyone in a manner that they might consider inappropriate.
You also agree to follow Glen Echo’s code of conduct available at https://glenechopark.org/…/default/files/CodeOfConduct.pdf Glen Echo will try to accommodate advance requests from individuals who would prefer not to be recorded at its locations, but cannot guarantee it.
After we finish out March with our dance at Eastern Market on Saturday the 29th and line dancing at Pitchers on Sunday the 30th, we’ve got a new batch of 13 dance events on the calendar for April, May, and June. Come for full country-western action at Eastern Market’s North Hall and the Glen Echo Park Bumper Car Pavilion, and join us for line dancing at Pitchers, any or all!
